About Ci2 DataLab

An applied lab for software and data-driven projects.

Established in 2024 within Ci2 at the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar, Ci2 DataLab supports BSc and MSc students in developing software and data-driven solutions for institutional, regional, and research contexts.

What is Ci2 DataLab?

Ci2 DataLab is an applied laboratory where students develop software and data science projects under supervision.

The lab focuses on identifying concrete needs and developing practical solutions using software engineering and data science, in contexts ranging from institutional systems to research prototypes.

Connection to research

Some projects are linked to funded R&D activities. In these cases, the lab contributes through the development of prototypes that support the validation and demonstration of research outcomes.

Current examples include MERmaid and MERGE App.
